When we were writing this article, we of course asked Uncle Google which words are most frequently searched on this topic. We found out that the phrase “notary certified translation kızılay” was searched almost one million times.
We wondered whether it is Kızılay, one of the districts of Ankara, that was actually meant by this. Right away, we listed the search traffic on an area basis and found out that number of people in Ankara who performed that search was 100,000, while the remaining 870,000 were from outside of Ankara. Then we filtered by date as well.
It turned out that in 2009 the “notary certified translation kızılay” phrase was mostly searched by people who live in Ankara. It is apparent that people in Ankara had thrown a rock into the pool, and, out of misunderstanding, thought that the Turkish Red Crescent Association, which coincidentally shares the same name as Kızılay the district, was offering a free-of-charge translation service. Our interpretation of the situation is certainly this. And now we are definitively declaring here: We searched and learnt that unfortunately no one provides a pro bono translation service.
